The Yorkshire and Lincolnshire 4×4 Response Group provides 4×4 Vehicles with experienced off-road drivers willing to do their best to help the community in times of need. We are affiliated to the National 4×4 Response Network, which is made up of similar groups across the UK.

We offer assistance as required by user organisations, such as Police, Ambulance, Doctors, Local Authority etc. This is often in extraordinary circumstances or extremes of weather, such as heavy snow or flooding. The group holds public liability insurance to cover members for response work.

Membership of the Yorks-Lincs 4×4 Response Group is open to anybody who is willing to help. You do not need to be an expert off-road driver, or even own a 4×4. Members have access to training to the highest standards in off-road driving, first aid, winch work & vehicle recovery. To operate successfully we also need a network of supporters, fund raisers and other volunteers.

The group has an active social side and while the principle aims of the group are very serious, we try to involve the whole family where possible. We have monthly open meetings (see the forum for dates and locations) and regular green laning trips and events such as camping weekends where children and other family members are welcome to come along. We also attend a number of 4×4 shows both socially and to promote the group.
